Looking for more information on Proportional Seat Distribution (PSD)? Take a look at the report on PSD written for submission to Canada's 2016 Special Committee on Electoral Reform. It has all the details: design justifications, extended examples, tables, graphs and stats!

Interested in a deeper understanding of the ins-and-outs of Proportional Seat Distribution and not afraid to get your hands nerdy dirty? Download the PSD spreadsheet and crunch numbers yourself. Run your own simulations to see what happens when voters vote any way you imagine. The spreadsheet provides results for the First Past the Post system and for Proportional Seat Distribution (national and region separate) using the ridings and parties of the 2015 Canada Federal Election.

We're spreading the word about this new voting system, and you can help! Just print off the PSD fact sheet and share it with others who are interested.

As proponents of proportional representation, we know how important it is to increase awareness of the shortcomings of First Past the Post and so we've created a slideshow presentation about the First Past the Post system and proportionality (the presentation also introduces the more commonly discussed alternative systems: Mixed-Member Proportional, Alternative Vote and Single Transferable Vote). Feel free to make use of the slideshow to help educate others on the need for electoral reform.
